Parenting Equip

In today's fast-paced and complex society, maneuvering through this world has never been more demanding for young people or more bewildering for parents. Exploring widely held cultural beliefs calls for interpretations rooted in biblical teachings.

This Parent Equip will help you respond to the hot-button topics that your teenagers are facing. We'll reflect on Ephesians 4 and how to speak the truth in love. Then, we will practice with other parents how to communicate through these difficulties using real scenarios that parents and teenagers face.

Childcare will be offered birth-5th Grade as space allows. Registration required.

Family Dedication

Family Dedication will be celebrated the weekend of April 28th and is the first step in our Family Ministries Discipleship Plan. This step represents a commitment on the part of parents to see the home as their first mission field.

Family Dedication at Storyline has two steps: 1) Parent Equip Orientation and 2) Sunday's Dedication.  Our Orientation consists of a special dinner on Thursday night, April 25th, @ 6 p.m. and time with our Family Discipleship Staff that evening. Our dedication is during service that Sunday morning and is a time for our whole church family to dedicate you as a missionary to your home and pray for your growing family.

Parent Equip: Sports & the Gospel

There's no getting around it: youth sports is a huge part of raising kids in our culture. And instead of seeing our involvement as a barrier to family discipleship, we want to give parents (and grandparents!) a vision for redeeming youth sports and taking the gospel with us into those spaces. Join us at our next Parent Equip to learn more about how sports & extracurricular activities can be used by God in the spiritual development of your kids & your community.

Support Team for Foster Families Lunch

As a church family, we are beginning to see common areas of excitement, passion, and gifting show in the lives of our members. One of those is a desire to be involved in the Foster Care and Adoption arenas. At Storyline, we have around a dozen families currently with foster children and/or adopted children. This lunch will act as a way to discover how our church can best serve these families in our church.

This event is directly aimed at families NOT in the Foster Care/Adoptive arena and desire to serve Storyline Families directly.

Middle School Blessing

The Middle School Blessing acknowledges the beginning of your child's transition from being a kid to becoming an adult, calling them into deeper involvement and deeper discipleship in the church. Parents are tasked with blessing their rising 6th grader through writing and reading aloud a letter to their child, expressing their love, support, hopes, and prayers for their future.

To mark this significant discipleship milestone, we gift each middle schooler with a Bible, symbolizing our belief that the Bible is for everyone, including middle schoolers, and it is our hope that over the next seven years, these students will know that the Bible is the true story that changes lives.

On August 13th, parents will meet their child in the Student Room for light breakfast refreshments and will read their letter to their child after the 9:00 a.m. or 10:30 a.m. service.
